Symposium – Viewing Voices: Voice and Moving Image
10am – 4pm, Thursday 19 June 2014, Traverse Theatre
Viewing Voices will explore methods of address and their contribution to both positioning voice and ‘giving voice’ in relation to subject, maker and audience. With a particular focus on inner-voice, this day of screenings, workshops and discussion will examine how these methods articulate, materialise or pervert thought, memory and imagination.
Attendees are invited to participate in discussion throughout the day, which begins with a morning screening programme at the Filmhouse cinema.
Initiated by artist Lyndsay Mann. The symposium is developed in partnership with Edinburgh International Film Festival, supported by Scottish Documentary Institute, LUX Artists’ Moving Image and Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh.
